Thanks for the note. I'm going to let it grow, have it shaped a bit to give it some roundnes, then let it grow out more. I have no idea how long I'll let it grow but it's been QUITE interesting so far to see the reactions of people around me.

Yep, I'd like to achieve a year beard too. How long it is by then depends on genetics I suppose, but I'm looking forward to the milestone. It'll certainly turn some heads in this town. After that, I may even go on to terminal length. Now that would be someting else.

Meanwhile, Christmas is a great excuse. That's my stock reply whenever I get questioned at the moment. Working back through the year, I've been untrimmed since August 1st and my usual beard was about two months growth, so I make that June 1st or perhaps mid-May. About the same as you. By Christmas it'll be seven months worth. Yo!

I'm having a great time wearing a larger beard. I welcome the attention it brings from complete strangers, friends, family and work colleagues. I should have done it YEARS ago.

Well, good luck with the handlebars. You should persevere; it's a great look.

By the way, I saw a vagrant in town as I was driving through just 45 minutes ago. I noticed the poor guy was walking about in rags. Such a shame; but a social worker friend of mine says it's their choice to live like that - the state would provide for them if they registered. The reason I mentioned him is because he had a beard in dreadlocks right down to his waist. That's gotta be three years worth of growth at least. Lord knows what was living in it! If I see him in person I might drop a £5 note behind him and say "Hey; you dropped this Buddy". I think it's a less intrusive way of helping.

I wish I had the courage and density to grow out handlebars like yours! Still; I'm content with my efforts so far. I think I've got one of biggest beards in my little town, so that can't be bad.

Inspiration is what I've joined this site for.
