I was once walking through the local mall when a youth with a wispy moustache barked "get a shave!" at me. Without even thinking about it, I stroked my beard and just said "...Jealous?" and kept walking without looking back. I'm not sure what his reaction was, but I heard his friends break up laughing.... ;)
You have a truly awesome beard, especially for what you describe as "seasonal." I don't find mine really all that bothersome in hot weather. You might not either once you're used to it. You might enjoy experimenting with styles and variations.
