I vowed as a kid to always be open-minded and accepting of all music. This was right after my Dad almost banned Elvis from the house! LOL So today I try to find something good about all types of music. If I had to say that I prefer one to all the rest, it would be classic country (mostly 50's to 70's). I still like a little twang but go ballistic when they use bad English or talk down to listeners. I have quite a bit of Bluegrass esp. the Monroe’s & Flatt & Scruggs.
As a result of a video from a friend I have discovered Depech Mode. They play with some of the electronics (reverb) popular in the 50's and again in the 70's.
Depeche Mode "Personal Jesus" (album version edit)

I have been loading up my MP3 player with lots of hits from the past. It may take forever because I never paid much attention to titles (or even the artist). I like Pink Floyd but have only loaded some of their stuff that the local radio stations don’t often play like “Dogs of War”
I sometimes must audition entire albums to find the one song I want to upload. Never the less, I’m enjoying this & I’m finding great songs I have not heard in years.
Although I’m not esp. religious, I like some gospel. I also like music that takes me there such as 1812 Overture, Grand Canyon Suite or Rhapsody In Blue. I’m having substantial difficulty with Rap and the currently popular Hate music but these must point to our cultural problems and maybe even to a dysfunctional government.

Citizen Cane, Night of the Iguana, Brazil,...
I'll have to think about this. I'm trying to think only of movies that warrant being seen again. There are only a few. I'll get back on this.

It's always interesting indeed how these things come about..  I was watching a show on the history channel a few weeks ago and they found the fossils of this dinosaur that had already been discoverd, however this dinosaur still had it's organs and and the skin could be seen imprinted on the rocks... Now they'd already made up models of what this creature looked like, but had to change them because of the skin imprssions and the critter was found to have a rather large beak on it... they also did xrays on the fossilized remains and were able to tell what it's last meal was! They followed the intestinal tract backward and discovered it's heart, and other organs! Simply fascnating!

In my writers group I came across this tid bit:

“What we used to know as the Brontosaur (the famous long-neck sauropod dinosaur of the Jurassic Period) is now properly called an Apatosaur because for years, paleontologists had the wrong skull (that of a Camerasaur) on the skeleton.”

There were a few Sunday mornings when I wished I could replace my throbbing head with a better one! Ha! I just mentioned this because of your interest in the dinosaur period.

Happy Birthday.

I found long ago that celebrating birthdays just made me a year older & I got shirts I'd never wear so stopped the celebrations & stopped getting older. It works (almost). I have to admit that it is pretty cool to get happy birthdays wishes from UK, Sweden, & even 100 miles away, San Francisco.

Thanks guys.
