Eclectic taste in music runs from A-Z (Albinoni - Zappa), not too fond of rap/hip-hop (I'm too old, I guess). I miss listening to KCRW on the radio; just not the same over the 'Net. Just as likely to be listening to classical or even a Met broadcast on Saturdays.

Have fallen behind on movies and theater, but trying to catch up via NetFlix. A good story and plot will get my attention faster than special effects. Partial toward mysteries and film noir.

Omnivorous reader: outside of the usual O'Reilly tech-geek stuff, favorite reads are John LeCarre, Scott Turow, SneakyPie Brown (Rita Mae's cat), Sara Paretsky's VI Warshawski series, C.S. Lewis, Emerson, Thoreau; modern physicists such as Richard Feynman's lectures, Michio Kaku's works on String Theory and Brian Green's recent two books on Unification Theory (A BF back in '90 said I was scary; I not only owned a copy of Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time, I understood it. I laughed.)

My work and hobby life overlap. Mostly operating systems and programming. Work is what I do to make money. Hobby time is when I get to do what I want.
